Brazilian laser at M. STUDIO covers everything from the bikini line inward — front to back, top to bottom. One session takes about 20 minutes. After 6 to 8 visits you stop thinking about razors, wax strips, and ingrown hairs altogether.
We treat both women and men. Women book "Full Brazilian" (classified as a large area). Men book "Mankini" or "Full Mankini" (large or X-large). Same laser, same room, same result — the pricing differs because male hair is denser and needs more energy per pulse.
What "Full Brazilian" actually covers
Everything. The front bikini area, the sides, the labia or groin fold, the perineum, and the perianal strip. If you want a landing strip or a specific shape left, tell your technician at the start — they will mask the area before the first pulse. Most clients go fully bare, but it is your call.

Does Brazilian laser hurt?
Straight answer: the bikini area is more sensitive than your arms or legs. You will feel a quick warm snap with each pulse. Our Clarity II has a cooling tip built into the handpiece — it chills the skin right before the laser fires, which takes the edge off. Most clients say the first session is the worst and it gets easier after that, because each round leaves fewer active follicles to target. If you are worried, let us know before we start and we will lower the energy. It may add a session to the course, but it keeps things tolerable.
How many sessions for Brazilian?
Plan on 6 to 8 sessions, 4 to 6 weeks apart. Hair in the bikini area grows in cycles — the laser only catches follicles during the active phase (about 20% of them at any given time). By session four or five most clients already notice a big drop in regrowth. After the full course, a touch-up once or twice a year is usually enough to keep things smooth.
How to prepare for your appointment
- Shave the night before. Do not wax, sugar, or pluck for at least 4 weeks beforehand — the follicle root needs to be there for the laser to target it.
- Skip tanning and self-tanner for 2 weeks prior. The laser reads contrast between hair and skin — tanned skin makes that harder.
- Come with clean skin, no creams or lotions on the treatment area.
- Wear loose underwear or bring a pair — tight fabric on freshly treated skin is not fun.
- Avoid scheduling during your period if that makes you more comfortable. It is safe either way, but sensitivity runs higher at that time.
After the session
The area may look slightly red or feel warm for a few hours, like a mild sunburn. That settles on its own. Avoid hot baths, saunas, and direct sun for 48 hours. Hair will start shedding within 7 to 14 days — it falls out on its own, no scrubbing needed. Between sessions, shaving is fine; waxing is not (it pulls the root the laser needs).
Why M. STUDIO for Brazilian laser
We use a Clarity II — a dual-wavelength laser that handles every skin tone without switching machines. Your technician picks the right wavelength (Alexandrite for lighter skin, Nd:YAG for darker skin) and adjusts pulse settings based on your hair and comfort level. Every session is in a private room at 34 W 37th St, Midtown. Walk-ins happen, but booking ahead guarantees your slot.
