What Happens to the Hair?
Laser hair removal directs light energy toward pigment in the hair. That energy heats the follicle, reducing its ability to produce new hair over time. Because hairs grow in cycles, one visit cannot treat every follicle at the same stage.
The goal is long-term hair reduction, not a promise that every hair will disappear permanently. Your response will depend on hair color, skin tone, the treatment area and other individual factors.
Why We Use Clarity II
M. STUDIO uses Lutronic Clarity II, a platform with 755 nm Alexandrite and 1064 nm Nd:YAG wavelengths. Having both options allows the provider to select settings based on the skin, hair and treatment area rather than treating everyone the same way.
Clarity II also includes IntelliTrak technology and temperature-sensing capabilities. Treatment suitability and the settings used are determined at the appointment.
More About Clarity IIDifferent Skin Tones and Hair Types
Laser hair removal can be considered for a range of skin tones, but the wavelength and settings matter. Darker skin contains more pigment, so extra care is needed to reduce the risk of burns or changes in skin color.
Laser treatment generally works better on darker, pigmented hair than on white, gray or very light hair. If you're unsure whether your hair or skin is a good match, ask before booking a treatment series.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
Most people need a series rather than one appointment. A commonly discussed starting point is around six to eight sessions, but the actual number and spacing depend on the area, hair growth, individual response and the treatment plan.
Some people later book maintenance treatments. Your provider can explain what to expect without promising a fixed result or a fixed number of sessions.
What to Expect at Your Appointment
Before treatment. You'll discuss the area, your skin and hair, recent sun exposure and anything that may affect laser suitability. The provider determines the appropriate treatment approach. A consultation or patch test may be recommended based on your history and the treatment area; do not assume either is automatically included in every booking.
During treatment. You'll wear appropriate eye protection while the handpiece is moved across the selected area. Sensation varies; many people describe warmth or a brief snapping feeling. Your provider can explain the cooling method used with the equipment at your appointment.
After treatment. Temporary redness or mild swelling can occur. Follow the instructions provided for your skin, including sun protection and any activity restrictions.

Before Your Laser Appointment
Shave as directed. Your provider may ask you to shave the treatment area before visiting. Follow the instructions for the area you booked; facial areas may need different preparation.
Avoid removing hair at the root. Waxing, tweezing and threading can interfere with laser treatment because they remove the hair the laser is intended to target. Ask how far in advance to stop.
Tell us about tanning and medications. Recent tanning, sunless tanner, certain medications and skin conditions can change whether or when treatment is appropriate. Share this information before your session.
Aftercare
Temporary redness or swelling may occur. Avoid tanning and protect treated skin from the sun; your provider will explain any additional steps for your area and skin. If you experience unexpected or persistent symptoms, seek appropriate medical advice.
